Webex - Enable Breakouts when Scheduling a Meeting
If you know you would like to
use breakout for a meeting or class, you have the ability to enable the
Breakout option ahead of time to save yourself and added step during the
meetings. This will enable the breakout menu and its option as you begin and start
the meeting. You would will want to enable this feature during the scheduling
process.
Scheduling and Enabling
Breakout
Using the Webex website
1.
Log into the PTS Webex Website, https://ptsem.webec.com using your PTS email address and password
2.
Click schedule in the center of the screen
3.
Using the Scheduling wizard, Enter the meeting topic, Date and
time for your meeting and add any attendees (optional)
4.
Once set click, Show advanced options
5.
Click on Scheduling options
6.
Click the checkbox next to Enable Breakout sessions.
7.
Once selected click the schedule button
When you begin this scheduled
meeting, the breakout option will be available on the toolbar.
Using the Outlook integration
If you are using outlook to
create your meetings, you can enable breakout to be available when the meeting
begins,
1.
Open outlook
2.
Select Schedule Meeting from the Webex Menu
3.
Use the meeting invitation to add participants, set a subject or
topic, set an agenda, and date and time.
4.
Click on the change settings button in the Webex menu to open
the meeting settings
5.
Click the box next to Enable Breakout Sessions and click OK
6.
Press send.
When you begin this scheduled
meeting, the breakout option will be available on the toolbar.
Editing an existing meeting to
include breakouts
Using the Webex website
1.
Log into the PTS Webex Website, https://ptsem.webec.com using your PTS email address and password
2.
Select the Meeting menu on the left hand side
3.
Use the filters to locate your upcoming meeting.
4.
Select the meeting you would like to edit
5.
When you are brought to the meeting overview, click on the
pencil icon to the right the meeting to edit.
6.
Once set click, Show advanced options
7.
Click on Scheduling options
8.
Click the checkbox next to Enable Breakout sessions.
9.
Click Save
When you begin this scheduled
meeting, the breakout option will be available on the toolbar.
Using the Outlook intergration
1.
Open Outlook and switch to the calendar view
2.
Locate the meeting you would like to edit to add breakouts to.
3.
Double click the meeting to open it
4.
Once open, locate the Webex menu and click change settings.
5.
Click the box next to Enable Breakout Sessions and click OK
6.
Save and Send the update to any participants.
When you begin this scheduled
meeting, the breakout option will be available on the toolbar.
This option will only work for
meetings created using outlook.
