PRA - Remote Access for Vendors - How to use
PRA or Privileged Remote
Access is a tool used to grant vendors access to internal PTS servers and
systems. Access to this tool and it connected permission is closely managed by
the Information technology team. Only approved vendors and users are able to
access this service or offering.
Before you can use the service
you must be an approved vendor and have applied for access. If you do not have
access please work with your PTS contract owner to establish the need and
access required. All actions will be recorded and logged during the use of
this service to protect the Seminary and it's data.
How to Use PRA:
There are two methods for
using PRA, 1.) through a web Access Console or 2.) Access console that can be
installed on your computer
Accessing and working with the
Web Access Console
· Open a Web Browser and go to https://remoteaccess.ptsem.edu/login
· Enter your username, password, and Multifactor Authentication
code to log in.
· Select My Account from the left-hand menu
· Click the "Launch Privileged Web Access console"
button
· A new tab should open displaying the available jump groups and
computers, these are the only machines you are able to access
· Select the server or computer you are looking to access from the
list.
· Either double-click the machine or use the Jump button on the
information tab
· The remote computer should load and take you to the login window
· If you have been provided PTS credentials, just them to sign
into the computer. If another user is signed in, use the "Other
User" option on the lower left-hand corner to input your credentials
· If you have not been provided PTS credentials (username or
password), the sign and administrative credentials are stored in the Vault and
can be injected to access the computer. To access the stored credentials, use
the Key Icon on the menu bar to inject the credentials into the system.
· Once signed in you can perform any actions, access any programs,
move files or upload files, or provide support as needed. Your keyboard and
mouse functions will activate on the remote computer.
· Once your work is complete and you are ready to disconnect,
click the X icon in the menu bar
· Other menu options include actions to restart the computer,
press ALT+Control+Delete, take a screenshot, or changed the display settings
for the session.
Accessing and working with the
Access console installed on your computer.
Download and install the local
client
· Open a Web Browser and go to https://remoteaccess.ptsem.edu/login
· Enter your username, password, and Multifactor Authentication
code to log in.
· Select My Account from the left-hand menu
· Click Download Access Console to download the local application
· Once downloaded, double-click it to install
· Enter your administrative password to allow the installation to
complete
Using the Access Console
· Locate and open the installed application on your computer
· Agree to the Login agreement
· Sign in using your username, password, and Multifactor
Authentication code.
· Locate your Jump Groups on the lower left section
· Select the computer you want to connect to
· Either use the Jump Button on the menu bar or double-click the
machine name to start the session
· the remote computer should load and take you to the login window
